Aadhaar card is not just another id proof that you can use to buy a sim card. It’s so much more than that, an aadhaar is a unique 12 digit authentication number issued by the UIDAI on behalf of the indian government.
The government of India has also made aadhaar compulsory for almost everything. From opening a bank account to getting admissions in college. Not only this, an income tax return cannot be filed without aadhaar card.
The government is making every effort to link aadhaar card with everything possible like it is mandatory now to link aadhaar card with your mobile number, bank account, so they can have a clear record of everyone and increase transparency in all transactions.
While this linking of aadhaar with all your accounts might seem like a hectic and time consuming procedure,it is actually a very easy process. Everything is available online, you can link your mobile number and bank account to aadhaar online.
Aadhaar also provides you some benefits-
